Chicken Head

I had an amazing yet crazy weekend. I spent the better part of Saturday at a training for work. I'm not quite sure why everyone continues to complain about these things year after year. Yes, you give up a Saturday; however, you gain so much from the experience. I, for example, probably gained five pounds throughout the entire event. I arrived at the Starbucks headquarters completely Starvin' Marvin. I wasn't remembering that breakfast would be provided, so I was pleasantly surprised to see Krispy Kremes upon our arrival. Oh Krispy Kremes...it's been years. Four donuts later, I was ready for the valuable training we were about to receive.
I really liked the Keynote speaker they chose. She was funny, seemed to know what she was talking about, and had passion. I love people with passion! However, I disagreed with many things she had to say. Allow the children to jump off tables and shelves in the classroom? I don't think so. Anyway, she had some great ideas that I'm excited to implement in the classroom. I took some classes with some totally awesome coworkers. We goofed off slightly and may have been hated by many other people there. Hey, we were having fun and made the most of it without being disrespectful to the trainer and others around us. Haters! lol
Then, I went with some coworkers to Fado (an Irish pub in Seattle.) I met some cool people that meet before and after every Sounders game. Fado is their official headquarters during the season. Later that night we salsa danced at a bar in Kent. The salsa dancing took place in between sessions of this awesome liberace/elvis impersonator that rocked my friend's world. It was very amusing. So, this was my very first time on the dance floor...ever. AND wouldn't you know I would be dancing with a guy that has probably been salsa dancing since he could walk. "I will teach you," he said in his spanish accent. Crazy times!
By the way, I spent most of Sunday telling my kids not to call their dad (or me) Chicken Head. Thanks Andi! LOL =)
